B2H (Business to Human) Marketing in the Age of Robots
Date: October 28, 2025
Location:

“LEEDigation” is a term that describes the disputes and lawsuits that have arisen from green building projects.  As with any new paradigm in the construction industry, some green building projects will run into bumps along the way.  It's important that parties understand and plan for these problems.

Chris Cheatham, a construction attorney in Washington, DC and a principal in the Law Office of Christopher W. Cheatham, LLP, has worked at some of the largest law firms in the country, is a LEED Accredited Professional and advises companies regarding green building and renewable energy risks and contracts.  His nationally-distributed blog—the Green Building Law Update—serves as a forum for discussing green building litigation, regulations, policies and trends.

The webinar discusses real-life green building cases and walks through risk management strategies that firms and their clients can implement to avoid the liabilities, and potentially litigation, related to LEED-certified projects.  Cheatham will answer key questions including:

·         What green building disputes and lawsuits have already developed?

·         How can these problems be avoided?

·         What is the single most effective green building risk management tool?

Among the case studies to be examined will be review of a $100 million conflict between a green building developer and the IRS, and a LEED® Platinum project that reportedly may collapse.

The presentation will be followed by a lengthy period for participant call-in questions which Cheatham will address.
