Congress has finally approved a new, long-term surface transportation program – the FAST Act. The $305 billion package will boost investments in highway and transit projects, giving State and local transportation agencies five full years of dedicated federal assistance, unlocking stalled projects and unleashing a new wave of contracting opportunities for engineering firms.
To preview how the FAST Act will impact the business outlook for A/E/C firms, ACEC presents an exclusive on-line seminar: The New Federal Transportation Program – What It Means for Your Business. Led by nationally recognized experts in highway and transit policy and funding, participants in this session will receive key insights into funding levels and formulas, new grant programs, and changes to project delivery rules for state and local transportation agencies.
Attendees will learn about how state highway and transit program funds are apportioned under the law, project eligibilities and selection criteria for new grants for freight mobility and assistance for major projects, transit program changes for local project sponsors, and new project delivery streamlining reforms for environmental reviews. Other topics include TIFIA loans and project financing assistance, highway infrastructure safety, and research & development into alternative revenue mechanisms for transportation programs.
This must-see seminar will give engineering and design firms a jump start on the transportation market outlook for 2016 and beyond.
