Infrastructure owners are turning their focus to the triple bottom line of sustainability and adopting the Envision rating system for sustainable infrastructure as policy and requiring contractors to use the Envision tools. In fact, many public agencies are using Envision for project assessments, training staff in the application of Envision, and putting Envision in Requests for Qualifications (RFQs) and Requests for Proposals (RFPs).

What’s driving this change?

  • Advocacy of the American Society of Civil Engineers for investment to rebuild our infrastructure in a sustainable manner
  • The national plan for federal sustainability in the next decade
  • The United Nation’s focus on infrastructure in the Sustainable Development Goals

To be eligible for contracts and maintain a competitive advantage, you need experience using Envision and credentialed Envision Sustainability Professionals on staff.

Join Denise Nelson to learn how Envision can help your firm create cost-effective, more resource-efficient, and adaptable long-term infrastructure investments. You’ll also identify municipalities using Envision and what they are requiring from their consultants. You’ll leave this online class ready to:

  • Identify the growing number of communities using Envision to determine if this is a tool to discuss with your clients
  • Describe how communities are using and requiring Envision to make the case for educating your staff to use Envision
  • Develop a strategy for your company to test the Envision tools to gain experience and become competitive in the growing market for sustainable infrastructure
  • Start using Envision to create a competitive advantage for your firm in your region or infrastructure sector

The Envision Guidance Manual and online scoresheet are freely available for use in developing and evaluating infrastructure projects.  Similar to LEED for green buildings by the USGBC, an Envision professional credential and project award program are available for a fee.

This on-demand online class is 60 minutes long and carries 1.0 Professional Development Hour (PDH).
