Most engineering firms, regardless of size, must defend a professional liability claim and look to their professional liability insurance carrier for coverage.  This session identifies what the engineering firm should expect from its insurer, and discusses how the professional liability insurer handles a claim – from the date of notice to the impact on the renewal premium.  The session will also give the engineering firm a recommended approach to risk management and a better understanding about the firm’s interaction with its insurer.  The session will attempt to dispel common myths about the professional liability claims process.
